About Me

Blupoetres is a Brooklyn native with over two decades of experience as a high school English teacher in New York City. After facing burnout in 2023, she transitioned from the classroom to a dean's position, seeking to have a broader impact on students and their educational journeys. Blupoetres' academic credentials include an Associate in Arts, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, a Master of Science in Education, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
In addition to teaching, Blupoetres is an accomplished poet, with a deep passion for writing works that highlight marginalized voices and struggles. She self-published a book titled Medicine for the Marrow, a collection that reflects this commitment to amplifying stories that challenge, inspire, and provoke thought. Through poetry, Blupoetres seeks to motivate readers and encourage dialogue, pushing them to reflect on uncomfortable truths and engage with important social issues.
She and her husband, David, have been married since 2005, and have two children, Lincoln and Madison.
